World Bonsai Day - Forest Planting Demonstration and Collection Tour

Chris Baker, the Chicago Botanic Garden’s curator of bonsai demonstrates a bonsai forest planting on a slab in Nichols Hall. Garden bonsai volunteers present ongoing demonstrations of bonsai repotting, pruning, wiring, and design from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At 1:30 p.m., Chris Baker leads a tour of the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Bonsai Collection. Spring-blooming highlights in the collection may include wisteria, crabapple, and azalea. The tour meets in the Runnells Courtyard.

There is no cost for either event.
